These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Real Food mobile app ("Real Food", "the app", "we", "us"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Real Food lets you scan food and consumer products with your camera and shows an AI-generated score that estimates how a product may relate to your skin, appearance and wellbeing goals, along with suggested alternatives and optional habit and nutrition tracking.
Real Food is a wellness and educational tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, nutritional, dermatological, or other professional advice. Scores, food information, and recommendations are AI-generated estimates and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Do not use the app to diagnose, treat, or make decisions about a health condition, allergy, or intolerance. Always check the actual product packaging and consult a qualified professional before changing your diet, especially if you have allergies, intolerances, a medical condition, or are pregnant. You use the app's outputs at your own risk.
Scores and product names are generated by an AI model from a photo and may be wrong, especially for unclear images, mixed meals, or unusual products. Real Food does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any result.
Scanning and certain features require a paid Real Food Pro subscription, offered as an auto-renewing subscription through the Apple App Store:
Prices may vary by region and are shown in the app before purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. If you start a free trial and do not cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, it converts into a paid subscription. You can manage or cancel anytime in your iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
Purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple under its standard policy at support.apple.com/billing. We cannot directly issue refunds for App Store purchases.
Your use of the app is also subject to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA), available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. Where these Terms and the Apple EULA conflict, the stricter applicable provision governs the licensed application.
You agree not to misuse the app, including reverse-engineering it, abusing the scan service, attempting to overload our backend, or using the app for any unlawful purpose. We may limit scan volume to protect the service from abuse.
Your use of the app is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any decisions you make based on the app's outputs. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or intent and gross negligence under German law).
We may update these Terms as the app evolves. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence.
